Marzieh Alvand

Marzieh Alvand is a visiting research fellow at the Institute for Middle East Strategic Studies. She is also a Ph.D. student of International Relations in Tehran University. Ms. Alvand's research interests include Iran and great powers studies, Iran foreign policy, Arab-Israeli studies, terrorism studies, and disarmament in the Middle East.

 She has published several articles in Persian. Her latest publications include, "Establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Impact of its Security Policies on Iran", book chapter, Imam Sadegh University publications (2009); "Iran and Shanghai Cooperation Organization: Hegemony and Anti-Hegemony", Iranian Association of Political Science Quarterly (2009); "Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Regionalism in Southwest Asia in the 21st Century", paper presented at International Conference on Building a Safe Future for the Region of Southwest Asia (2007).
