On November 13, 2012 the Institute for Middle East Strategic Studies (IMESS) in collaboration with the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) held a joint seminar to discuss the regional developments in the light of Arab Spring. , Deputy Director of IMESS, Professor Volker Perthes, Director of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), and Dr. Muriel Asseburg Senior Researcher at SWP shared their views on the afore-mentioned subject. At the beginning of the session, Kayhan Barzegar, as the moderator of the session, elaborated on Iranian perspective towards the regional developments aftermath the Arab Spring. Dr. Muriel Asseburg shared her views on the European perspective of the Arab Spring. The main theme of Professor Hamid Ahmadi’s presentation was about “the future of political Islam in the Middle East after the Arab Spring.” Professor Volker Perthes made some comments on the presentations. In the questions and answers’ section, the audience exchanged their views with the speakers and brought up some questions as well as commenting on some issues.
